With a sprinkling of much needed rain, the Summer HAF Programme at Apple Tree Farm started on Monday 1st August. The team consisted of Phil, Laura, Amy, Lydia, Lexi and Val, ensuring that the children had a wonderful and memorable experience, received a hearty warm meal and took home a food hamper.

Our first week saw 43 children attend the farm, 22 of them were transport to and from the farm by our team from as far as Barnstaple, South Molton, Bideford, Torrington and Merton. 4 children were supported by our 1:1 provision, thanks to additional funding from Devon County Council, and a total of 20 had additional educational or medical needs.

It was a wonderful week for all involved.
The recipe of the week was a delicious macaroni cheese, the ingredients for which our families received as part of their first food hamper which comes with the provision. Alongside these ingredients we have also provided a number of household essentials and a large selection of fruit and vegetables, with gratitude to Heddens of Woodtown for providing these.
