Care Farm in North Devon
It would appear individuals are at it again, using It would appear individuals are at it again, using our name to advertise cows for sale in an attempt to scam people. The powers that be have been informed once again but please remain vigilant when engaging online sellers and check your sources. We rarely advertise animals for sale anywhere but through our own website and social media channels. And most significantly, we do not even own cows! 🤷🏽‍♀️

The ducks bedtime routine is as reliable as the we The ducks bedtime routine is as reliable as the weather at the moment. Some nights they’re holding a rage parade around the farm house, threatening a duck coup and demanding immediate access to their quarters. Other nights they will have us running around the farm shouting ‘come on then, bed time!’ like we are wildlife sopranos, opening gates to free them from fields they willingly entered and seemingly can’t get out of. It’s like a guessing game, you never know if you will feel threatened by them or have to threaten them. Such fun! 🦆🦆🦆

Lop x large German breed (continental). Does not get on with our other male, and he is entire. If with females he will breed! 😝 Lovely independent nature, super friendly and cuddly!

We’re excited to be launching Roots to Resilience, We’re excited to be launching Roots to Resilience, a new counselling service at Apple Tree Farm, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund 💚 From September 2026, we’ll be offering accessible mental health support to young people, families and our team, right here in our therapeutic farm environment. 🗓 Referrals open via our website from 1st July 2026 Lyn, our counsellor, shared: “I feel very excited to be part of this amazing opportunity… Apple Tree Farm is a wonderfully therapeutic setting for this to happen.” We’re proud to be expanding support for our community 🌱 #MentalHealthMatters #CommunitySupport #NorthDevon

We have been told that during the busy times of 12-3pm access will be best from the High Bickington end and the crew should allow you through if you tell them you’re visiting us.

It's great to see familiar and new faces return to our home education groups - the farm was buzzing today. This half term will fly by and with so much to do, we’re worried it’ll be over before we know it. 🤩
🌿 Farm Closure Notice 🌿 After a very busy and br 🌿 Farm Closure Notice 🌿 After a very busy and brilliant Easter HAF programme, Apple Tree Farm will now be closed until Monday 27th April. This short pause gives our amazing team (and our even harder-working animals 🐐🐑) a well-deserved rest and time to recharge. Over the past few weeks, the farm has been full of energy, learning, laughter and a lot of muddy boots — and while we wouldn’t have it any other way, a little quiet time is definitely needed! The farm phone and office will be unmanned for a few days but some of our amazing admin team will step in undercover periodically to pick up anything that is extremely urgent. Thank you all for your continued support and understanding 💚 We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for the next term. Until then… the animals are clocking off too 🐑😴

🌿 Easter #DevonHAF26 at Apple Tree Farm…the number 🌿 Easter #DevonHAF26 at Apple Tree Farm…the numbers 🌿 40 spaces… but because we like to keep things interesting, 46 amazing children joined us 🐐 4 children received 1:1 support (and approximately 400% extra cuddles 💚) 6 members of staff, on average, kept everything running smoothly (and mostly mud-free… mostly 😅) Across 4 days = 12 hours of farm fun, learning and chaos (the good kind!) 🍝 120 meatballs and 45 burgers served 🐑 Countless lamb cuddles delivered (scientifically immeasurable but VERY important) From muddy boots to big smiles, it’s safe to say it was a week full of connection, confidence building and a lot of laughter. To our incredible team, families and young people — thank you for making it so special 💚 Now… we just need a lie down and maybe one more meatball 😄
Lambing season has officially wrapped up with Mart Lambing season has officially wrapped up with Martha and Gertie! Gertie's little ram lamb Cosmo is a firecracker, pure menace running circles around the hay feeder shortly after being born. Martha's ewe lamb, on the other hand, had some interesting developmental choices - we're talking giraffe-length legs! It's been a lovely ride, and we're looking forward to catching up with those on the waiting list for lambs soon. But first, snoozies 🥱.
