This year we were expecting five little lambs with the lambing season expected to happen anywhere between the beginning of April and mid May. So understand when I say we were shocked to find this beautiful little ewe lamb just finding her legs last Saturday morning whilst doing morning rounds. Our fourth, and we had assumed our last, lamb arrived on the 11th of April so this young lady is a nearly two whole months behind everyone else, a huge mystery to us!
She was born absolutely tiny, weighing a mere 1.2kgs. Mum Lucy struggled to produce enough feed so for the first 48 hours we supplemented with bottle feeding. We suspected she might have been developing mastitis but after a bit of preventative treatment involving some udder mint and massages she seemed to turn a corner.
So, we are delighted to introduce our 5th little lamb, hence why she’s currently nicknamed Lambo Number 5. She will, however, require a lovely new name so she can be registered, we thought it would be very lovely if our friends, family and followers would like to take part in sending us suggestions for a name? The only rule is that it must start with the letter E and the second name must be a colour starting with the letter B.
So far we have:
Hit us with your suggestions so we can name this lovely girl! I can’t wait to read them all…
